The building was fully engulfed in flames when the fire serpents arrived with Hans just after dusk.

“Helga, you and Freda douse the fire on the backside,” Hans ordered. “Make sure it doesn’t spread to the forest.”

Another centaur galloped up.

“What do you think started it?”

“Jarvis, who knows what old man Baggly’s got stashed?”

Just then, the large lettered sign toppled in two.

“There went the compendium part,” Hans said.

“Huh, I like it better as just ‘Baggly’s Oddities,’” Jarvis noted.

A shape began to rise above the inferno.
